Chairmates

Our shared commitments

Chairmates community guidelines

Good mountain days start with kindness, trust, and looking out for each other.

Please read these commitments before applying. Acknowledging them is required for a new waitlist application, but does not guarantee approval or create a member account.

Keep this a welcoming space for women

Chairmates brings women skiers and snowboarders together. Treat every member with respect, whatever their background, ability, riding style, or experience. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, and hate speech have no place here.

Respect boundaries and consent

A ski-day invitation is never an obligation. Ask before sharing contact details, taking or posting photos, or offering advice. Respect a no, a change of plans, or someone choosing to ride separately. No unwanted romantic or sexual attention.

Be honest and considerate

Use an honest profile and describe your experience and plans accurately. Agree on the pace and terrain together, welcome beginners, and communicate if you will be late or cannot make it. Never pressure someone onto terrain beyond their comfort level.

Put mountain safety first

Meet new buddies in a busy public place, tell someone you trust about your plans, and follow resort rules and the responsibility code. Respect closures, give others space, and ride within your abilities. Chairmates is not a guide or emergency service; contact ski patrol or local emergency services when help is urgent.

Protect each other’s privacy

Keep private messages and personal meet-up details private. Do not share someone’s location, photos, contact information, or conversations without their permission. Avoid posting sensitive information on the community board.

Keep conversations helpful

Questions, gear recommendations, and different opinions are welcome. No spam, scams, impersonation, or unsolicited sales pitches. Keep disagreements kind and focused on the topic rather than the person.

Speak up when something feels wrong

For community concerns, contact chairmatesapp@gmail.com with the relevant ski day or thread and what happened. Share only the information needed to review the concern. Applications may be declined, and membership may be restricted or removed for guideline violations.

Each member is responsible for their own safety and decisions. Being approved is not a background check or a guarantee of another member’s conduct.
